Humans are adults, or animals is one that has grown to its full potential. If used in conjunction with human beings, the term "adult" could mean anything that is connected to social or legal ideas. Contrary to those who are who is not considered to be an adult or "minor" an legal adult has attained majority, making them self-sufficient, capable, and responsible.
